Hinson Lectures speaker highlights connection to the earth as an act of resistance

BSK hosted the annual Hinson Lectures on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 in Lexington, KY. With many in attendance in-person and others live-streaming the event, Dr. Cláudio Carvalhaes led in two different sessions. In the morning session, Dr. Carvalhaes lectured on the topic of, “Spiritual Practices to Live in a World Who is Gone.“ Then, in the afternoon session, in-person attendees participated in a workshop led by Dr. Carvalhaes entitled, “When the World is Gone, Where Do We Go?” In this afternoon workshop, participants learned from the Psalms, poetry, earth knowledge, and forms of resistance from various peoples and places–engaging together in practices for sustenance, renewal, and transformation.
