Wade & Jodi Rowatt Fund for Pastoral Care
The Rowatt Fund provides ongoing support for the pastoral care program at BSK. This includes funding for a professor of pastoral care and scholarships for pastoral care students.
BSK is committed to continuing the tradition of excellence in pastoral care that is the hallmark of Dr. Wade Rowatt’s leadership.
Bill & Joyce Holmes Library
Monetary donations for the purchase of library materials to support the curriculum are always welcome and gratefully accepted. The Baptist Seminary of Kentucky is a co-owner of the Digital Theological Library (DTL)which is the primary library for all students. The DTL is a growing, purpose-built, comprehensive collection of resources for theological education.
Women in Ministry Scholarships
Since our founding, BSK has been an adovcate for women in ministry. By contributing to scholarships for women, you can be part of supporting their journey in theological education. Scholarships are particularly needed for women in our MA in Ministry Studies program.
Rural Ministry Program
Advanced theological and ministry training, however, has too often failed to help ministers imagine smaller, rural congregations as suitable and sustainable placements for ministry. Many seminary students and young ministers have learned much from their time leading rural congregations. Yet it is also true that rural places have too often been a “way stop” for many seminary students and young ministers. BSK hopes to reverse this trend by collaborating with rural congregations and The Berry Center to provide advanced theological and ministry studies in, with, and for rural congregations and their ministers.
Institute for Black Church Studies
The Institute offers continuing education for Black church leaders and a graduate-level certificate program in Black church studies, as well as a concentration within the MDiv program. The Institute provides related library resources in a digital format and will serve White congregations and their leaders through a program of racial justice education. Research aimed at benefiting the Black church and the African American community is also part of the work of the Institute.
Community Building for Online Students
BSK works to build deep relationships with and between our students. Across a year, multiple opportunities are provided for students that encouage in-person gatherings and community building. Your gifts help support the travel costs that are part of this effort.
