Rev. Amanda Smith called as Co-Pastor of FBC on St. Clair

Rev. Amanda Smith called as Co-Pastor of FBC on St. Clair

Congratulations to BSK alumna, Rev. Amanda Smith, who has been called as Co-Pastor of First Baptist Church on St. Clair in Frankfort, KY! The church shared this news on February 16, 2025, stating:

“In 2024, First Baptist Church on St. Clair voted to reimagine its staffing structure to include two co-pastors who will share in the work of preaching and pastoral care alongside leading in other areas of ministry. On February 16, 2025, FBC called Rev. Amanda Smith as the first of these two co-pastors.

Amanda has served as Associate Pastor of Children & Spiritual Formation at FBC since August 2020. Beginning in January 2024, she added the roles of Pre-Interim Senior Pastor and then Transitional Pastor. Alongside her new responsibilities, Amanda will continue her work with children and in spiritual formation.

The Co-Pastor Search Team is now engaged in the work of seeking and recommending a second co-pastor for our church.”

Rev. Amanda Smith graduated from BSK in 2015 and has been actively involved ever since. She wrote and facilitated a Flourish workshop on children’s ministry for BSK. Rev. Smith says of this exciting transition,

“I have loved First Baptist Church on St. Clair since I came here as a seminary student to serve as the children’s ministry intern in 2011-2013.

FBC welcomed me back as an associate pastor in 2020. This community has loved, encouraged, and cared for me deeply these last 4.5 years. During this year of pastoral transition, they’ve put an immense amount of faith in me not only to preach and to lead in the interim but also to walk with them as we reimagined what pastoral leadership could look like.”

Congratulations, Amanda! Your BSK Community is cheering you on!
