The BSK Community is thankful for the life and work of June Honeycutt, who passed away on June 8, 2024. Alongside her husband, Dr. Roy Honeycutt, June was an advocate for theological education. June was known for her hospitality on the campus of Southern Seminary during her husband’s tenure.
Dr. Mark Medley, Interim Academic Dean and Professor of Theology completed his PhD at SBTS in 1995. Medley says, “June Honeycutt embodied grace and kindness. She blessed the Southern seminary community with her compassionate concern for faculty, staff, and students and their families.”
Dr. David Cassady, President of BSK, graduated with PhD from SBTS in 1992. Cassady says, “June Honeycutt’s ministry was visible through her time at Southern, and her leadership continued as she actively participated in the life of Broadway Baptist Church. I am grateful for the many lives she shaped.”
The BSK seminary community keeps the family of June Honeycutt in our prayers and gives thanks to God for her life and witness.
