The Louisville Courier Journal published an article on September 2 featuring BSK graduate Jordan Conley. The story focuses on the historic Crescent Hill Baptist Church calling Rev. Conley as their new co-pastor and first gay minister.
Read, “Historic Baptist church’s new co-pastor, a gay man, says calling is ‘the honor of my life'”
“For them to say, ‘We’ve seen you as church member, we’ve seen you as youth minister and we trust you with shepherding us onto whatever is next in our spiritual journey,’ that is the honor of my life,” Conley told The Courier Journal. “And it is a burden that I do not take lightly.”
Rev. Conley described his experience at BSK, where he received the MDiv. in May 2022, “BSK is answering God’s call to equip the next generation of leaders in the church through building an authentic community dedicated to theological education and to service in the church. I am proud to call BSK ‘my seminary’.”
BSK President, David Cassady, celebrated the church’s decision, “Clearly Crescent Hill recognizes the strong ministry skills and deep calling Jordan brings to this new role. BSK is proud to be part of Rev. Conley’s ministry and congratulates Crescent Hill Baptist Church and Rev. Conley as they together work to serve the Louisville community.”
