On Wednesday, March 13, BSK will hold its annual Hinson Lectures. This year’s lectures will be held at Central Baptist Church in Lexington, KY and will feature Dr. Leah Payne. Dr. Payne is Associate Professor of American Religious History at Portland Seminary in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Payne’s book, God Gave Rock and Roll to You: A History of Contemporary Christian Music, traces CCM’s theological vision and political impact on public life in the U.S.—an effect more potent and lasting than that of any particular doctrine, denomination, culture war, or legislative agenda that had come before.
