This week, the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky has been celebrating our upcoming commencement as we have highlighted our graduates. These 4 students have been in The Benediction, a class designed to integrate theological studies with ongoing preparation for Christian ministry in the students’ final year. As a final assignment in The Benediction, our four graduates were asked to write a benediction for the BSK Community. One of our students graduating this Saturday is Sara Herrington Jones. Read Sara’s benediction for the BSK Community, as well
as her plans for after graduation, below:
As you go from this community
Carrying the light of Christ
Bearing the name of a beloved child of God
Resting your life in the hands of God – –
They are hands which will hold you and never let you go.
Sara is the Minister for Children at Central Baptist Church in Lexington. She has some dates lined up to do supply preaching, will continue leading adult spiritual formation classes and retreats, and remain active in the work of the National Association of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Sara is looking forward to spending more time with her two teenage sons in the year ahead.
