Dr. Rowatt has served as the Director of the St. Matthews Pastoral Counseling Center in Louisvillle, Ky from 1995 to 2009 and professor at Southern Baptist Seminary, University of Louisville, McMaster Divinity College and the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky.

Dr. Rowatt is a Diplomate in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), a Supervisor in the Association For Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), and a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (AAMFT).

He has authored or co-authored 10 books, the latest isĀ Adolescents in Crises: A Guidebook for Parents, Ministers, Teachers, and Counselors. He has authored more than 50 articles in professional journals and religious publications.

He has led or co-led with Jodi, his wife, more than two hundred workshops and retreats on Marriage Enrichment, Building Strong Christian Families, and Christian Parenting.
