BSK welcomes Dr. Eric A. Johnson, who will be teaching preaching in the Fall 2017 semester. “We are excited about the opportunity for our students to be led by such an accomplished preacher,” said BSK president David Cassady.
Dr. Eric A. Johnson is the pastor of Greater Galilee Church, Louisville, Kentucky. He is the past Moderator of the Central District Baptist Association and has previously served as second and first Vice Moderator. He is the Past President of the Louisville City-Wide Revival, and an instructor and lecturer for the National Baptist Convention. He has served as the late night preacher for NBC, USA, Inc.
Dr. Johnson’s efforts in 2006 consummated a partnership with the Georgetown College for inner city students. He has served preaching professor at Simmons College of KY and adjunct Professor of preaching at Campbellsville University. Dr. Johnson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of North Texas in 1990, and a Doctorate of Philosophy degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005.
He has written articles for both the African-American pulpit and the African-American Lectionary. He has contributed to several academic and church related writing projects including Oxford Sermons Volume III. He is the author of Where are the Men of the House; Discipling that Makes a Difference.
Dr. Johnson is listed in the 1993-1994 edition of Who’s Who Among Students In American Colleges and Universities; elected to the National Minority Scholars of America in 1994; served as the 1993-1994 Spiritual Life Chairman of the Southern Seminary Student Government Association; and member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Dr. Johnson is a native of Texas and married to the former Jan L. Wyatt. They have three children.
