On Monday, September 16, in Memorial Church at Harvard, the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists welcomed Rev. Dr. Brandon Crowley for their 2024 Annual Lecture. BSK was a proud sponsor of this event!
Dr. Crowley has recently published Queering Black Churches: Dismantling Heteronormativity in African American Congregations and lectured on “Black Queer Homiletics & Hermeneutics.” Dr. Crowley is a Lecturer in Ministry Studies at Harvard University’s Divinity School and the Senior Pastor of the Historic Myrtle Baptist Church in Newton, Massachusetts.
Following the lecture, Dr. Laura Levens, Associate Professor of Christian Mission and Director of BSK’s Master of Arts in Ministry Studies, led a response time. Dr. Levens is a member of AWAB’s board.
