BSK has advocated for and supported women in ministry from its founding

Since our founding over 20 years ago, BSK has emphasized, supported, and advocated for the work of women in all areas of ministry. BSK’s female students and alumni serve as senior pastors, directors of non-profits, and ministers in all areas of the church.

BSK believes that God calls women to ministry, including pastoral ministry. BSK approaches curriculum and formation in ways that assume and support this fact. We are intentional about women in leadership, from textbook authors, to chapel preachers and event leaders.

The decision made this week by the Southern Baptist Convention to exclude women from the work of God was wrong and not surprising. From its beginning, BSK has and will continue to empower and support women in ministry as they continue to do the work God has called them to.
