BSK Alumna Kate Anderson to do Book Signing at CBF General Assembly

“Engaging the Sacred” was published in April.

BSK alumna, Kate Anderson, recently wrote and had published her new book, “Engaging the Sacred: Relational Spirituality as Pastoral Care.” Kate’s book describes the new framework for pastoral care that she and her colleagues created through Relational Spirituality, which takes into account the lived experiences of the people she is working with. Dr. Wade Rowatt describes Kate’s book,

“Kate Anderson’s stories of struggles with institutional systems, cultural bias, and theological blind spots provide us with a fresh approach to spiritual care with all persons, especially those who are developmentally delayed. The interdisciplinary application of relational spirituality offers hope in the midst of our health care crises and its overworked staff and financially strapped budgets. Her scriptural foundations and theological reflections make this a must-read for spiritual caregivers in hospitals, care homes, and local parish settings.”

Kate will be doing a book signing with Smyth and Helwys Publishing this Thursday, June 20, after evening worship at CBF’s General Assembly in Birmingham, AL in the Gathering Place. Please stop by and check out “Engaging the Sacred” and even get it signed by the author!
