BSK alumnus and Kentucky pastor responds to Kentucky Legislature’s conversion therapy bill

Rev. Jordan Conley, who graduated from BSK in 2022, wrote an op ed for Louisville’s Courier Journal. Conley has been the co-pastor and now pastor at Crescent Hill Baptist Church since 2022. Conley’s op ed, entitled, “Kentucky lawmakers weaponized the Christian faith with conversion therapy bill” says,

“In a few weeks, churches across Kentucky will celebrate Easter, the holiest of holy days. We will proclaim that Christ is risen — that love has conquered fear, that life has triumphed over death. Conversion therapy is rooted in death-dealing theology, but the resurrection proclaims life. It is a reminder that no matter what harm is done in the name of religion, the power of God’s love cannot be legislated away.”
