BSK alumnus, Rev. Damon Horton, is celebrating the successful defense of his dissertation for his Doctorate of Ministry degree. Damon, who graduated from BSK in 2019, will graduate from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH on May 17, 2025. The title of Damon’s dissertation is, “Prophetic Activism: Equipping Mentors to Improve Student Cognitive Behavior Through Spiritual and Cultural Identity.” Dr. Anthony Everett, Administrative Faculty member and Director of BSK’s Siloam Project serves as the mentor of the Prophetic Activism cohort at United Seminary.
Damon is also currently working as a therapist under supervision, to become a Kentucky Licensed Pastoral Counselor. He says, “I am grateful to BSK for taking a chance in me back in 2011, that helped catapult my educational journey.”
