This Saturday, May 12, 2018, we will celebrate the graduation of 4 of our outstanding students at our annual commencement ceremony. These 4 BSK graduates are Sabrina Smith, Sara Herrington Jones, Marcus Pernell, and Ben Burton.
Rev. Bert Montgomery, ’07
Rev. Bert Montgomery, BSK class of 2007, will offer the commencement address. Bert has many roles, including serving as Pastor of University Baptist Church in Starkville, MS and as a Lecturer at Mississippi State University. Bert is also an Author and Inclusion Advocate. He has written several books, including: Elvis, Willie, Jesus, and Me (2008), Psychic Pancakes and Communion Pizza (2011), Going Back to New Orleans (2013), and Of Mice and Ministers (2014). Bert says of his time at BSK, “My experience as a BSK student was holistic, healthy, complete — terrifying, hilarious, frustrating, and fun, fun, fun. Please join us for our Commencement ceremony as we hear from Bert Montgomery and as we celebrate our graduates. Commencement is this Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Georgetown Baptist Church followed by a small reception in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!
