About the M.Div. and the Application Process
About the Master of Divinity Degree
The Master of Divinity degree (M.Div.) is a professional degree designed to prepare persons for a variety of career paths including ministry, pastoral care, chaplaincy, non-profit leadership, administration and thoughtful lay leadership. The degree program focuses on academic exploration, spiritual formation, and the practice of ministry.
The M.Div. at BSK is a 75 hour degree. Students are encouraged, although not required, to work in a ministry setting while pursuing the M.Div.
About the Application Process
Once your application is fully completed, it is sent to our admissions committee for assessment as to qualification and readiness. After the meeting you will be notified as to the result. If admitted, you may then apply for financial aid, including the Kevin & Barnetta Cosby Seminary Scholarship for ADOS. Even if all 10 scholarship slots are filled for a given year, there are other financial aid options that are available.
Once admitted, you will be provided with a login to our system and may register for upcoming courses. It is important to complete your application swiftly so your registration can occur before some courses are filled.
If you have any questions about the application, scholarships or our process, please contact Abby Sizemore, Director of Admissions, at abby.sizemore@bsk.edu.
