    Assistant to the Director

    Supports the Director of the Institute for Black Church Studies through administrative support, event coordination, and communications  responsibilities. The position will be in Louisville, Kentucky.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    • Provide administrative support for the Institute and its Director.
    • Coordinate calendar planning and event details regarding workshops, speaking engagements and conferences.
    • Provide assistance collecting and cataloging Institute videos, articles and other materials.
    • Collaborate with other staff of the seminary in terms of budget, processes, meetings and communications.
    • Serve as communications contact for the Institute and the Director relating to media inquiries, interviews, speaking opportunities and connections.
    • Various other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Two or more years of administrative support experience
    • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook)
    • Financial management skills
    • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality while working independently
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Able to work with a diverse group of individuals

    BSK Offers:
