Poem by Rev. Amber Inscore Essick

Rev. Amber Inscore Essick

This past July, Rev. Amber Inscore Essick, BSK’s Adjunct Professor of Christian Worship, attended Young Clergy Women International’s annual conference held in Atlanta, GA. Rev. Inscore Essick wrote a poem about the opening worship service of this conference that was featured in YCWI’s magazine, Fidelia. A portion of this poem reads,

And the organ pipes

spread their arms

in welcome

and pursed their lips,

poised to sing,

but yielded

to the lighter notes

of the piano’s

joyous song.
