Dr. John Inscore Essick has been writing a series of columns on addiction for the Henry County Local. Dr. Inscore Essick researched the
topic of addiction and worked on these columns during his sabaatical in the Fall of 2017. In his final column in this series, Dr. Inscore Essick challenges readers to continue to “reckon with addiction” and to remember the many things learned throughout his series. He writes,
“Hearing and writing up the stories of so many Henry Countians impacted by substance abuse and addiction has been a challenging and transformative experience. There is no going back. Much remains to be learned and accomplished in order to become whole.”
