Pastor

Ridgewood Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking a full time pastor beginning February 1, 2026, to help us grow spiritually and help us expand our outreach to the community and surrounding area.  Our church was established in 1959 and is surrounded by Salem, Vinton and Roanoke County. There are beautiful mountains and plenty of activities to do in our area.  We currently have 50-60 in attendance for morning worship and 40-48 in Sunday school.  Our church is made up of different ages with the highest percentage being senior adults.  We trust that God has a special person that He is preparing to help us grow.  We prefer someone with a seminary degree and has a strong commitment to developing the spiritual lives of our congregation and our community.  Our church believes that Christ offers salvation to all.  We witness to everyone, knowing that anyone can potentially be saved if he or she will only confess to being a sinner, repent and trust Jesus.   Each person decides whether or not to trust in Christ for salvation.  Our church’s biblical understanding of pastoral leadership is as follows: While serving as spiritual leader of the church, the pastor should expect the congregation as a whole to retain much responsibility for considering and voting on church matters in the church-wide business meetings and through Committees elected by the congregation.  Our church believes that women are accepted into all leadership positions in the church.  The salary package is negotiable.
