Minister to Senior Adults

Faith Baptist Church, a moderate Baptist church affiliated with CBF, is seeking someone to minister to our church’s senior adult members focused on identifying, understanding, and addressing senior adult needs, challenges and priorities.  Ideally, this person will have knowledge of aging (psychological, spiritual, social, and physical) and understands the problems of loss of hearing, sight, friends, etc. through aging. This person will listen to individual seniors to assess their personal needs while working with the senior committee to address those needs individually and communally. Currently, this looks like one-on-one relationship building along with helping plan monthly JOY (just older youth) group lunches and outings to provide community. He/She shall be supervised by both the pastor and the Senior Committee with a job performance evaluation annually.

This is a part-time 10-20 hours a week position with a pay of $12,411 annually to be paid incrementally twice a month.   • Lead the senior adult outreach ministry and visitation.
  • Maintain regular contact with senior adults, particularly shut-ins and those living alone through visits, calls, and emails.
  • Encourage, coordinate, promote and participate in activities for senior adults.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Committee and Deacon Committee, coordinate and advocate for meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the seniors when possible.
  • Communicates clearly with deacons, church officers, committees, and Sunday School classes the needs of senior adults.
  • Work, cooperate, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.


An enthusiastic Christian who has a passion for and knowledge of senior adults and their needs.  Degrees are not as important as a commitment to minister and to be a caring and available member of the church staff.  Experience and education are not itemized but considered important for a well-rounded applicant. He/she should have a history of loving, learning and serving. He/She must be or become an active participant at Faith Baptist Church.
