William L. Turner completed 45 years of local church ministry upon his retirement from the pastorate at the end of 2001. During this time he served churches in Alabama, Kentucky and Texas and as a preacher and educational resource leader in 12 different states.
Dr. Turner has published a variety of journal articles and sermons and is the author of three books: The Struggle to Believe: Rethinking Faith for the Twenty-first Century; Anytime, Anywhere: Sharing Faith Jesus Style, and Making Sense of the Revelation: A Clear Message of Hope.
Throughout his ministry he has held significant positions of service in denominational and civic life, particularly in the areas of race relations, religious liberty, mental health, and interfaith cooperation.
In 2001, Dr. Turner married Earlene Rentz, a free-lance choral composer/arranger, and they now reside near Lancaster, KY. Dr. Turner pursues an active preaching schedule and continues to be an active contributor to life in Baptist churches and the larger Christian community.
