Dr. Laura Levens, Assistant Professor of Christian Mission, preached at Central Baptist Church on the Samaritan woman in John 4, Dorothy Day, Kate Bowler, and searching for living water during Lent. It is entitled, “Living Water.”
She says, “I love to weave together the stories of women in Christian history, the biblical story, and the spiritual journeys people take in their own lives. For this sermon, I preach about literal and figurative earthquakes, Dorothy Day’s journey to faith, the Samaritan woman’s journey to preach, and my friend Kate Bowler’s journey with cancer. During this time of Lent, I ask, where are we on our journeys, and what is this living water that Jesus offers us?”
