On Friday, August 14, Crystal Shepherd was elected as President of the Kentucky Association of Pastoral Counselors. Crystal is a 2016 graduate of BSK and a licensed pastoral counselor at Tree of Life Counseling, LLC in Lexington Kentucky.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has also announced the appointment of Crystal Shepherd to the state licensure board for pastoral counselors. According to the state website, “The Board of Licensure for Pastoral Counselors administers and enforces its statutory authority and monitors the needs of the consuming public. It recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality.”
Dr. Wade Rowatt, Senior Professor of Pastoral Care and Counseling at BSK, commented, “Crystal distinguished herself in the classroom with the insightful, caring, and theologically sound cases she presented. Her rise to leadership pleases me but does not surprise me!”
BSK offers the Master of Divinity with a Concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling, as well as a pastoral care certificate, helping prepare counselors and chaplains for their important ministries.
