Baptist Seminary of Kentucky stands in solidarity with Breonna Taylor, her family, and the city of Louisville. We cry out for Breonna Taylor, who cannot cry out for herself.
We cry out for the city of Louisville, dismayed, hurt, and angered by unjust and racist systems and structures. As a seminary committed to confronting white supremacy and working for racial justice, we unequivocally proclaim that Black lives matter. Not only do Black lives matter, Black lives are sacred.
Even as we lament, we are ever committed to act justly, love mercy, and walk in God’s loving kindness. And we fervently pray as an educational community that the prophetic Spirit of God aspires our imagination for a new belonging grounded in resistant hope and the restorative work of reparations.
