Baptist Seminary of Kentucky Credentials

How do I …?

All students (and auditors) will receive four sets of credentials to effectively navigate student life at BSK:

a email address, a Populi account, a Georgetown College ID and password, and BSK ID card.

The use of each is outlined below.

BSK Email

After being admitted to the seminary, you will be sent instructions on establishing your institutional email address.  Typically, this is sent to the email address through which you applied for admission.

Please set this up as soon as possible; this is a primary way in which faculty and staff will communicate with during your time as a student. Your email address will typically follow this pattern [first initial][surname] for students.

Webmail:  go to

Your assigned email account is an official channel of communication for the Seminary.  Please check it regularly or forward it to an account that you check regularly: all students are responsible for knowing information communicated to you through this channel.

If you need your password reset, please contact

The Seminary uses web-based software called Populi as our academic management system.  You will be assigned a login name (typically firstinitialsurname) and create your own password.  This information will come from Populi directly and expires 7 days after it is sent.  It will only be sent to your email, so make sure to set that up as soon as you receive that information (see above) and check it regularly.

Students need to use Populi to access some class materials, register for courses, receive and pay student bills, request official transcripts, generate unofficial transcripts and degree audits and many other academic and business functions related to Seminary life.  For clear and helpful guides about what you can do Populi and how to do it, visit:  Please check with your professors and read your syllabi to determine what interactions may be expected through Populi for individual classes.

Populi will also be used to push out notices of class cancelations and other information.  Please consider including your mobile telephone number and registering to receive text messages through the system.

If you need your password reset please contact our Registrar, Jessalyn Cornett at or follow the instructions on the sign-in page:  Please note that password reset instructions will come from Populi and not from BSK; look for an email from them and not a response to your request.

Georgetown College ITS

Your GC user ID and password give you access to important resources through our host institution:

1.  GCWiFi:  there are two wireless internet connections on campus TigerGuest and GCWiFi.  Always prefer GCWiFi which requires you GC user ID and password; TigerGuest is an open network and will not give you access to certain resources.  GCWiFi is also a noticeably faster connection.

2.  Library Databases and Inter-Library Loan:  your GC user ID and password are needed to access subscription database materials (including ATLA Serials and ATLA Religion) whether on-campus or remotely.  On campus, you will have automatic access through the GCWiFi connection (see #1).  From anywhere off campus, you will need to input your ID and password before you have access to these resources.  You will need to input your ID and password to request materials through Inter-Library Loan whether on- or off-campus.

3.  On campus printing:  [description coming soon]

Typically [firstinitial][surname] and a long, complex assigned password.  If you need your password reset, it is best to contact Georgetown College ITS directly and explain who you are and what you need:  502.863.4357.

Your digital life (and your actual life) will be much smoother and easier if you keep good track of your passwords.

BSK Identification Card

You will be issued a photo ID card with student number by the Georgetown College Business Office.

In addition to being used for identification purposes, this card will be your library card.  Have it available to check our library resources, including study rooms.  The only time that you would use your student number to sign in to anything, would be to check your library account at:

If you lose your ID card, notify the Registrar immediately:
